Matt Smith is a great actor. At first, I was really not impressed with him, but he's grown on me.
I like Eleven better when the Ponds aren't around (both of them kind of fell flat for me, although Rory actually showed some character development eventually, which is more than I can say for Amy). I think he would have been great with Donna Noble.
